Ashley and Ben at Bellewood Plantation

February 25, 2017

Set against the gorgeous, green, sprawling setting that is Bellewood Plantation in Vero, Beach, Florida, Ben and Ashley kept the ceremony small and tight, full of their nearest and dearest. It could be just be another friend weekend getaway, if it wasn't for the stunning location and a day that only comes once in a lifetime. The intimate euphoria radiated as brightly as the sun that day; the groomsmen and bridesmaids were chummy and comfortable, coming together for a group hug, sharing laughs as they strolled through the plantation grounds. Undeniably handsome, Ben wore a navy tux, and Ashley a body hugging, long lace gown with delicate white, floral straps and Badgley Mischka silver stilettos. She held white roses, he wore a pinned white rose, and both surrounded themselves by their two best friends, and their family. They said  "I Do" underneath a century old oak tree, and the friend group stayed at the old, historical colonial house on the property, a property boasting gazebo, arches, porches, pillars, and many romantic accents that were congruent with Ben and Ashley's chemistry: stately, but elegant, romantic, even whimsical. It was a low key, love affair, full of dancing, passion, inside jokes and unconditional bonds. Ben's groomsmen looked happy to be there. There was zero sense of obligation, and that came across. They all wore black socks with bright colored flowers on them which showcased their personality. At the end of the night, the wedding party held sparklers, toasting the newlyweds, who kissed, as they were cheered on by their friends and family on the sidelines. And man, can they dance. Ben danced with his mother, and Ashley with her father. Both families clearly gave the seal of approval. Her dad was a proud papa that day. Her long, tousled waves were made for the dance floor, and the warm Florida winds flirted with her hair as they disappeared into their own world once the sun set and the party began. The party itself was all about their eating and drinking style; everyone fixed their own mojitos. It was a fancy DIY style, one that was not only comfortable and personal, but high-class, and celebratory. The motto for Ben and Ashley could very well be: quality over quantity. And quality it was.
