Deborah and Shannon at The Dupont

September 18, 2016

Deborah resembled Audrey Hepburn, classy and timeless and elegant, as her mother and a small team, helped her into her gorgeous Lazaro dress at her uncle's house in Miami. A family first type of family, throughout the night, her mom, dressed in a navy, beaded gown, wasn't without a smile. The intimacy was palpable, and how proud her parents are of her, was visible. As Deborah waited for her dirty blonde to curl, she took a selfie, smiling widely, perhaps remembering when she met Shannon at an event in South Africa years ago. Later, her hair, pulled back into a bun, would be fastened by a delicate, floral headpiece made by Maria Elana Headpieces. She wore a white robe embroidered with Mrs. Davimes as she admired her hairstyle, and waited for her minimal make up to be applied, which showcased her strong features. Her first boyfriend, she was taken by Shannon's accent (amongst many more wonderful attributes!), and they were engaged on Table Mountain South Africa. She just knew. He knew. That was clear. It was a historic love.

Their wedding, held at The Historic Alfred Dupont Building in Miami, was inspired by South Africa, and Venezuela, and the flowers were King Protea, the national flower of South Africa. A former bank, the opulent building, fit their chemistry as a sophisticated, worldly couple, personifying a historic love. She slipped into her Badgley Mischka silver shoes, posed in front of a vintage maroon Cadillac, before heading to meet her husband to be, where he was enjoying laughs and drinks with his tight pack of stylish groomsmen. Shannon wore a Hugo Boss tux, and aviators, as he and his groomsmen stalked the streets of Miami, with a contagious confidence. He looked like he was holding in a secret, or a smile, ready to burst. All the men in his party, including Shannon, had swagger, possessed charm. Her mother and father walked Deborah down the aisle, where she met Shannon, waiting for her with an open heart, wearing a pink kippah atop his head. The sweetest flower girls, holding bouquets of King Protea, dressed as ballerinas. The ceremony was performed under a baby pink chuppah, the same color as their cake. There was a softness and sophistication to their service, an an homage to where there love was born. Now it was time to celebrate its consummation, and then watch it grow!

Once the ceremony finished, the party began. They danced the hora, and the two beamed as they were hoisted up on their chairs, and honored by their large wedding party. The picture of Deborah alone, her dress twirling around her, was a symbol for the momentum, and graceful movement, that characterized their wedding day. Mazel Tov!
