BEGININGS

A Lifelong Passion for Photography

At just fifteen years old, my father handed me a Konica 35mm camera and built a darkroom in our basement. From that moment, I was hooked. I spent countless hours experimenting with film, light, and composition—falling in love with the art of capturing time.

I still have that same camera today, a reminder of where it all began. My passion for photography has never faded. It’s driven by the joy of freezing a moment that truly resonates—when my subjects see themselves in a new, beautiful light. The ability to share that emotion through my images remains one of the greatest rewards of my career.

From Economics to Editorial to Fine Art Wedding Photography

My path to becoming a professional wedding photographer was anything but direct. After earning a degree in Economics, I worked as a fundraiser for political and charitable organizations, and later as a financial advisor in Florida. Yet photography was always calling me back.

In 2003, I made the leap and founded my own studio. I began in editorial and advertising photography, working with major brands such as Toyota, Isuzu, and United Healthcare. These experiences refined my understanding of lighting, composition, and visual storytelling—skills that now define my approach to weddings.

Trained in both digital and film photography—including 35mm, medium format, and large format—I developed a deep technical foundation. My editorial background taught me how to create images that are both authentic and artfully composed.

Photojournalism Roots and Artistic Vision

Before specializing in weddings, I apprenticed with Associated Press (AP) and Reuters photographers, honing my craft in photojournalism. This work taught me to anticipate emotion, see the story within a moment, and translate it into imagery that feels alive.

Over time, my style evolved—artistic, intuitive, dramatic, and free-spirited—reflecting my personality and perspective as a storyteller.

Over 15 Years of Experience in Wedding Photography

Today, with over 15 years in the wedding industry and more than 800 weddings photographed, my team and I bring an unmatched depth of experience to every celebration.

We specialize in fine art, documentary, and editorial wedding photography, blending candid storytelling with polished composition. Whether the setting is a seaside ceremony or a grand ballroom, we move seamlessly through the day—capturing genuine moments naturally and unobtrusively, without ever interrupting the flow of the celebration.

Our goal is simple: to create wedding imagery that is authentic, emotional, and timeless.

PHILOSOPHY

Documentary Wedding Photography That Captures Your True Connection

Documenting two people coming together to celebrate their love is both an honor and a privilege—one I approach with deep respect and artistic responsibility. At the heart of my work is a belief that every wedding is unique, defined not just by location, décor, or music, but by its emotional essence.

As a documentary-style wedding photographer, I focus on capturing that essence—the subtle emotions, gestures, and unspoken dialogues that make your love story distinct. Every image I create reflects the heartbeat of your day, translating emotion into timeless, visual storytelling.

A Personalized Approach to Every Couple

Like any true documentarian, I start with research. I take time to learn about the bride and groom, observing how they interact, laugh, and connect. This helps me understand the emotional rhythm that defines their relationship.

To build trust and connection, I invite couples to join me for an informal dinner or conversation before the wedding. This allows me to see who they are beyond the timeline and details—to understand why their love story has wings.

With this insight, I craft an editorial wedding photography collection that tells their story authentically. The resulting images are sentimental, timeless, and deeply personal—capturing fleeting moments that become lifelong memories.

Emotional Storytelling Through Wedding Photography

The emotional interactions between family and friends form the heartbeat of a wedding day—and of my work. From laughter shared during toasts to quiet, tearful embraces, I aim to capture these intimate, unscripted moments that reveal the true spirit of your celebration.

Each photograph is more than an image; it’s a chapter in your story—a testament to love, connection, and the beauty of being seen.

ENGAGEMENT

Engagement Photography Sessions — Relaxed, Authentic, and Fun

Engagement sessions can feel intimidating—but don’t worry! My goal as your engagement photographer is to make the experience relaxed, natural, and enjoyable. When you feel comfortable, your authentic connection as a couple shines through, resulting in photos that are warm, candid, and truly you.

From the moment you book, I’ll guide you every step of the way. Before the session, we’ll meet for dinner or chat over Skype to get to know each other better. This helps break the ice, challenge expectations, and let ideas flow organically. Over small bites and laughter, I’ll learn what makes you two work—and together we’ll shape a vision for your engagement photo session that feels effortless and personal.

Styling and Preparation for Your Engagement Photos

Once we’ve decided on your shoot location and theme, we’ll plan how to style your look. Since the camera captures every detail, I’ll help ensure both of you arrive polished and confident.

For brides-to-be: consider a manicure, professional hair and makeup, and accessories or colors that flatter your natural features.
For grooms-to-be: arrive well-groomed, wearing properly fitted clothing that complements your partner’s look—think jackets, tucked shirts, and no phones or wallets in pockets.

Avoid everyday outfits—this is a special occasion! I’ll offer personalized guidance on wardrobe choices so your images feel elevated, timeless, and cohesive. My goal is for you to walk onto the set feeling both confident and relaxed.

Building Comfort Before the Big Day

Think of your engagement photo shoot as a fun warm-up for your wedding day. By the time we shoot, we’ll have already built a rapport and established trust. You’ll be surprised how natural it feels to be in front of the camera!

The first thirty minutes serve as an acclimation period—a chance to get used to the rhythm of posing, moving, and interacting. With gentle direction and a comfortable atmosphere, that initial nervousness quickly melts away.

By the end, you’ll find yourselves laughing, connecting, and creating genuine, organic photographs that capture your love story exactly as it feels.
